Trustee Vanderwey elected Chair, Vice-Chair LeBlanc returns to her role at Annual Board Meeting
THUNDER BAY, ON – Lakehead District School Board elected a new Chair and returned a Vice-Chair during its Annual Board Meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Trustee Leah Vanderwey was elected Chair, while Vice-Chair Donica LeBlanc was re-elected. Vanderwey takes over for outgoing Chair Trustee Ellen Chambers, who had held the position for the past six years. LeBlanc, has held her position since 2022.
“I am looking forward to continuing to work collaboratively with all trustees as we renew our commitment to the success of every student and am humbled to be the new Chair of the Lakehead District School Board,” said Vanderwey.
“I would like to thank Trustee Chambers for her longstanding leadership and guidance as outgoing Chair.”
Vanderwey and LeBlanc were both elected as Trustees for Lakehead District School Board in October of 2022.
Also at the Annual Board Meeting Tuesday, Trustees were presented with the 2024 Director’s Annual Report, which highlights the accomplishments of Lakehead Public Schools over the past year.
